B4T5R Final RoundBefore Trenton could fully understand why his former friend had suddenly become a glowing, laser-shooting avatar of destruction, the world spun and collapsed around them. Pulled backwards by what felt like a firey hand around the inside of his throat, he hit the snow and saw Edge's glowing figure dissolve into the surroundings as the mountains of Stratus caved in.
In fact, it wasn't just the mountains. Every tree, every rock, every pile of snow began to fall in on itself and break apart like someone or something was disassembling it; packing it away for another day. As the ground below him followed suit, everything went black.
It wasn't the kind of black involved with unconsciousness, though. It was the kind of black associated with the space between starsa sort of infinite nothingness. In the distance, a red sun flared.
Within seconds, the surroundings crashed back into focus. What was once snow became sand and the sky above was dark with suffocating ash. Struggling to shrug off
B4T5R vs AntigoneThe blizzard obscured the mountains of Stratus, making navigation difficult. Free from Scorch's deserts, Antigone found herself relishing the frigid air she had become used to. In the distance, she could see a faint orange light, as if a tall fire were burning in the midst of the snow. She could think of no one who would be out in such a blizzard, let alone attempting to camp in one. Even the natives of Stratus would be huddled deep within their homes, caring for those who had fallen ill from the toxic smoke and ash that drifted in from Scorch.
Hesitant, she neared the source of the fire only to realize that what had been mistaken for a bonfire of sorts was, in fact, a man. His entire body radiated brilliant orange light that appeared to stop the snow and wind before it touched him. Despite the raging storm, his clothes were immaculate. Not a single breeze or snowflake could reach him. It was as if he were a god.
Turning towards Antigone, the man's face became visible. He looked to be
B4T5R vs NaamahThe impact of the falling island sent a shockwave across the five realms and decimated nearly half of Scorch's territory. Dust and ash obscured the sun and thickened the air, forcing Naamah and Verdance to land on a rocky outcrop near one of Cypress' islands. In the distance she could make out thin trees growing on the nearby island, swaying in a nonexistent breeze.
Naamah placed her trident and shield at her feet and sat, collecting her thoughts. After leaving Animi with the natives of Abyss, she had left in search of her teammates. If this tournament allowed the sabotage of matches, there should be no problem with the retrieval of her captured comrades. Abyss teetered on the brink of annihilation and Naamah was ready to break any rule to avoid it.
If the gods or whoever was in charge had a problem with that, they could take it up with her.
Less than a mile away, Trenton was having issues with momentum.
The wormhole spit him out with such force that it send him skidding across the N
B4T5R vs EdgeBy the time the elves arrived, one of Scorch's three suns had set and the second neared the horizon. Edge sat in the shade of his ship as the third sun burned above, seemingly fixed in the sky.
Dark-skinned and dressed in white, they shimmered in the desert heat like mirages. He kept an eye on them as they neared. Moving in near-perfect unison, they approached the unconscious body of Zead Worm and began to lift and drag him away from the ship. One of the elves noticed Edge and broke away from the rest, her initial movements jerky and unnatural as she advanced. She removed the white cloth covering the bottom half of her face before speaking.
"Champion of Scorch," she said.
"You have defeated the Fiend of Blight." The elf made a sweeping motion with her arm towards Zead and the elves.
Edge shifted his grip on the pipe laying across his knees. Its molten end had cooled, leaving the metal warped and twisted. An imprint of Zead's body remained. "Is that what that thing was?" he aske
